How About A Workshop?

The rumors are true. There's going to be a workshop in the chat, with a well known banjo legend - some of you may even know who.

But right now, that's all I'm going to tell you. You'll have to wait a few more days for the details.

Don't forget to check back from time to time. I could post the information just any time! There will only be 25 seats and you'll want to sign up before the room fills up!

Beating a Dead Horse?

It's about 12:30 PM EST. As of this moment today we've had 37 people come to the front door, but only 3 people that actually went into the chat.

I've actually considered taking the list of chatters off the login page. This way you would actually have to enter the room to see who was there.

I'd like to think we had a viable room here with the potential to offer an online workshop (at a fee of course) in the near future. Hopefully I can make that happen, but it would be nice to see a few folks actually coming through the front door instead of just standing on the porch...

Plugin Update

I noticed when I signed on today that an upgrade was available for the client. For me it went without a hitch - hopefully it will go okay for everyone. See you in the chat!

Don't Just Stop at the Log in Page - The Sequel

Just thought I'd share some information.

Yesterday we had 153 different folks come to the login page. That's not bad I think. However, we only had 20 actually come in the room. We're averaging 1039 visitors per week to the log in page! However we're only averaging 133 visitors per week that actually enter the room. That's not too hot...

What do I need to do to get you to click the button and come in the room?

Seriously, it's okay to be the first one in. It's okay to sit there and wait a bit for someone else. You can surf while you wait. Also, if you happen upon someone in the room, and they don't respond instantly to your hello, pick a tune and wait for them to find their way back. They may have been the first one there and they're off surfing waiting on someone else to join.

A sure way to keep people in the room is to play the banjo. Play, play, play. Just do it. Encourage everyone to play.

Finally, I've been watching the stats dwindle away from a huge crowd to a very select few folks. I realize we all have lives and can't be here 24/7, let's at least make an effort to actually enter the room.

Thanks,

-=Jim

Y'all behave, and have fun in the chat. Now's your time to talk about me. :)
